EDUCATIONAL RALLY IN ILIGAN CITY: A RESPONSE TO THE BLASPHEMOUS VIDEO-INNOCENCE OF MUSLIM

Today October 07, 2012, different universities, colleges, madrasah, Islamic organizations, jama’ of every mosque and Muslims in Iligan City, were conducted an educational rally as a response to the blasphemous video, written and produced by Nakoula Bassely Nakoula Known as Sam Bacile on Early of September 2012.

The said educational rally was initiated by the Muslim youth students coming from different universities/colleges of Iligan city such as MSU IIT-MIMSA, SMC-COMSA, ICI PANARIGAN, MTIM-SAYA, and also MAYWI, LMYA and ILMS. Both of these organizations join hand in hand in working together to make this move successful with the chairmanship of ------------- and of course the main initiator in realizing this event ABDUL JABBAR MONTANIER a student from ICI who finished his Arabic degree at Al-Maarif Baguio.

Due to the fact that Muslims in Iligan were having unity, they decided to finally establish this event. In fact, this leads to the other professional Islamic organization such as Ulama and professional association in Iligan city ISCOM, Bae rawatun of Iligan, Iligan imam’s league, and royal sultanate of Philippines, Prutcom, Salaam Police and even Balik islam-Blisphils to take part of this 1^st ever Muslim rally in the history of Iligan.

This rally started at 8:00 in the morning and ended by 12:00 o’clock. It was approximately 2000 protesters gathered in one cause. Fortunately, the parade was so peaceful wherein there is no injury that has been reported, the parade was too long. The women were wearing their Hijab and abaya. Imams and ulama were the first in line followed by the sultans, then the professionals, the women and then the students.

Despite of the very high temperature, the crowd still seemingly ready and proud to fight against injustices committed to the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. They are equipped to defend the honor of the beloved prophet whom they consider as number one most influential person in the history. They were shouting the Arabic words “Allahu Akbar” which means Allah is the greatest.

Moreover, they also have their different slogans indicating their utmost love to the prophet Muhammad and intimidating not to insult him again for the generations to come. Likewise, it was also indicated to their slogans that they are ready to die in shielding the dignity of their beloved prophet.

Afterwards, the program was started. Different great peoples and ulamas has been invited as a guest speaker of this event. They discussed the life, works and nobility of Prophet Muhammad to prove that the content of the movie entitled “Innocence of Muslim” is not true. According to the one speaker “the true innocent are those who discriminate Muhammad S.A.W.”

In addition, protesters and speakers requesting the president of the Philippine republic Benigno Aquino Jr. to take an action by sending a letter to the YouTube president to block or delete the stupid video which caused an atmospheric tension to the entire muslims community around the world.

According to one speaker, who was once attended the rally there in manila; they had already addressed this concern to the president. But, it seems that Aquino has taken it for granted. Owing to the fact that until now the video has been there while the other countries such as Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and many others had been blocked. Thus, protestor agreed that Aquino should lend his attention to it, otherwise they will boycott him by this coming election.

Finally, The last speakers was Abdul Jabbar Montanier, he focused his message to the importance of loving the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, According to him it is an individual obligation to the entire Muslim ummah to love Muhammad, he Quoted a hadith-a saying of prophet Muhammad S.A.W stating (Non of you truly believes until I became more beloved to them, from their father, son and all mankind).
